****************************************************************************
**** OS/2 BETA COMMUNICATION DRIVERS (release 2211) ****
**** READ ME FIRST!!! ****
****************************************************************************
NOTE: The drivers provided are still being tested. This is NOT an official
fix! Please note the precautions in this and other referenced
documents.
Please read COMBETA.DOC next as it has important information about
installation and DeInstallation. You can view by: EPM COMBETA.DOC or
type COMBETA.TXT.
Even though we are backing up the files listed in COMBETA.DOC, we still
recommend that you make your own backup. ALL OF THE MATERIAL PROVIDED IS
USED AT YOUR OWN RISK. See disclaimer in COMBETA.DOC.
Thank you for assisting IBM with this test. We value your opinion about
this latest enhancement to OS/2 2.0. Please COMPLETE the form (on this
disk) named CUSFB.TXT. You may use the "E" editor or print the document
out and fill it out manually. Please have this form ready before contacting
IBM OS/2 2.0 Support Line.
NOTE: If you have received this code on a diskette, we have included the
latest OS/2 2.0 Tips and Techniques. To view this, either create
an ICON or at the command prompt enter: VIEW OS2TNT.INF.
You need to copy this to your hard drive. We recommend that you create
a reference (ICON) in the information folder to the OS2TNT.INF using
VIEW.EXE as the program name.
NOTE 2: *** THIS IS IMPORTANT *** We have shipped two versions of the
VCOM.SYS file: VCOM.SYS and VCOM.2ND. The VCOM.2ND is the original
VCOM.SYS which was part of the COM2210 beta test. Should you have
difficulty with DOS based communication sessions (i.e. SYS3176, Traps,
etc.), you may want to copy VCOM.2ND from the provided diskette to
the x:\OS2\MDOS\VCOM.SYS.
